CATALOGUE OF SALT: AN INFORMAL BALLAD WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
Please join Evan Garrett for an evening of dance, performance, and conversation concerning the art and practice of writing a poem a day for 252 straight days. He has posted each of his poems on the Instagram account "A_Catalogue_Of_Salt" and would like to celebrate the completion of the project with two nights of boisterous, head-wringing celebration of what it means to do poetry. The evening will consist of 7 pieces (formal performances with choreography and text) and 6 Entr'Actes (informal breaks for drinks and reflection). These 7 pieces are named: CREATIVITY: How Calvin and Hobbes Taught Me To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb OBSESSION: Biblical Stories For Those We Have Lost SOLITARY RECEPTION: Walt Whitman Did It With Both Hands INTIMACY AND SECRETS: A Poem in a Fort! ALGORITHMIC TIME: If I Fall In A Forest, When Will You Get A Push Notification? PERSEVERANCE: Danny Torrance Jumps Through Hoops CELEBRITY: I Can't Tie My Shoes, But Maybe He Can Help Please come. Please invite an adventurous friend. Please know that acquisition of a ticket necessitates signing a non-disclosure contract and bringing a portable listening device we can send music to. You will not be in danger during the night--for the most part, neither will the performers. Friday and Saturday, October 12th and 13th. 7:30 pm. Comments are closed.
