DUMMY
by Anders Lee Diagnosed at a young age with autistic spectrum disorder, comedian Anders Lee dives headfirst into questions of disability, education and what it means, in our hypercapitalist, technology saturated age, to truly be “dumb.” Thursday, April 26th. 8 pm. A WASTE LAND
An electronic dance opera-odyssey through TS Eliot's iconic poem: part rave, part multimedia installation, this dark, dystopian clusterfuck follows genderqueer Tiresias on a bike-quest through, and examination of, male gaze. Devised and performed by internationally unrenowned power-bottom Eri Nox, expect to dance as you enter the glam/grunge underworld of 'Murica in a 75-minute party/theatrical event. note: PLEASE BRING HEADPHONES AND A CELL-PHONE CAPABLE OF ACCESSING INTERNET RADIO TO THE PERFORMANCE. "What is the Fringe for if not a late night clubland remix of TS Eliot's The Waste Land performed by a semi-naked New Yorker in killer heels?" -The Scotsman Friday, April 20th, and Saturday, April 21st. Doors at 7, show at 8. KEVIN BACON IS OUR GOD
Come join in worship with other devotees of America’s favorite man who’s only 6 degrees away from giving your Mystic River the tremors it wants: Kevin Bacon! With a combination of vibrant song and prayer, spontaneous testimonials and special guests, Bacon Disciples Jessie Jolles and Katie Hartman lead the absurdly reverent service that will sate your salty appetite. Kevin Bacon has touched us all. That promotion at work? That was Kevin Bacon rewarding you for all your hard work. When your hamster died? That was Kevin Bacon helping you learn hard life lessons. When there was only one pair of footsteps in the sand? That was Kevin Bacon carrying you. We’ll be singing Footloose hymns, finding how to reach the ‘first degree’ and also have offerings of the only food that matters: bacon (pork, turkey and veggie options available). With special guests Jon Bander (Master of None, Search Party), Girls with Brown Hair (Comedy Central, UCB), Rebecca Vigil (The Week Of, Your Love Our Musical), Brittanie Sheree (Broadway Comedy Club, The PIT), Angel Yau (UCB, Azn Pop, Joe Mande's Netflix Special), and Rachel Pegram (The Week Of, UCB). _____ Is Our God is a bi-monthly comedy variety worship service that changes its idol every show. Past shows have idolized smooth-headed Stanley Tucci and the better Olsen Twin, Mary Kate. Friday, April 13th. 8pm. CARMEN DANESHMANDI AND LISA CASE:
