Inspired by the Brecht-Weil opera "The Rise and Fall of Mahagonny," Rise and Fall is a punk-speed bacchanalian party-show following the story of Jimmy Gallagher and his chorus of dirty Alaskan cowboys as they strive to achieve the perfectly decadent society of their dreams. When Jimmy and his crew stumble upon the hottest new den of sin, run by the notorious Cadence Dakota Begbick, Jimmy discovers he can do what ever he wants... as long as he has the money.
Featuring Lyndsey Anderson, Toni Ann DeNoble, John Egan, Kate Gunther, Kelly Klein, Benjamin Lewis, Andrew Lynch, and Katie Melby. Co-Directed by Eric Powell Holm and Katie Melby, with original music by Andrew Lynch.
Bread Arts Collective is an organic collection of artists making work with people they love. Their debut production, Rise and Fall, enjoyed an epic 28 week run at People Lounge in the Lower East Side in 2015. The Village Voice declares; it's "a ‘Rise and Fall’ that Brecht would thumbs-up." Now, the troupe brings their antics to Brooklyn's Exponential Festival at Cloud City.
Check out other shows in the Exponential Festival at Silent Barn, The Bushwick Starr, and The Brick!
