with a live score by Aesop's Sound Fables! Aesop's Sound Fables is a chamber music ensemble that writes soundtracks to silent films, theater, and nature and performs them at events in NYC. We put on community focused interdisciplinary events and seek to reclaim public space for artists. For this October 25th performance, we will be performing our original, semi-improvised live score to the 1920 horror film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Friday, October 25th. 8pm. Welcome to the Petting Zoo. This is the world’s only comedy show featuring live exotic animals. New York’s top comics have to perform while holding snakes, birds, lizards, bugs, and other cool creatures. Between sets, you can interact up-close with the animals and learn from Ranger Eric Powers and his team of professional nature guides. We promise you haven’t been to a show like this. It's Fat Bear Week again! We'll be having a party on Fat Bear Eve to meet this year's contenders, fill out brackets, and generally appreciate the fat bears of Katmai National Park and Preserve (and all the other fat bears out there too). $10 a bear bracket-- half the pot will go to the winner(s), and we'll donate the other half to the Otis Fund at Katmai Conservancy. But you can still come appreciate the bears even if you don't want to do a bracket. In the meantime, check out the bear cams from Explore.org- endlessly fascinating!
