Come celebrate the start of Fat Bear Week at Katmai National Park and Preserve! We'll watch the bracket reveal livestream at 7 and then fill out brackets to predict who will be the fattest bear of 2022. $10 a bracket-- half the pot will go to the winner(s), and we'll donate the other half to the Otis Fund at Katmai Conservancy. A tender, meat-grinding, embodied interpretation of Mother of God going through it. She is a girl. She is a mother. She has a child; she loses that child. She is a social icon during the holiday season. A casualty of pain and glory and idolatry and consumerism and she is holding on, perhaps too hard. This experience exists in intrusive thoughts and coping mechanisms in an attempt to piece together meaning and reason.
